About me
我的研究興趣著重於分析台灣各類劇烈天氣系統(包含梅雨、颱風、午後熱對流系統等)。尤以氣象雷達(Meteorological Radar)技術的開發與應用。隨著新一代雙偏極化降水雷達雷達與毫米波段雲雷達在功能與角色的與時俱增。透過開發不同波段(S、C、X、Ka)氣象雷達的應用技術,發展氣象雷達資料品質管制(Quality Control)方法、定量降水估計(QPE)方法、降水粒子分類方法(hydrometer classification)、水相粒子含量反演(retrieval)方法等。並進行各類中尺度天氣系統研究,分析臺灣中尺度天氣系統在不同生命期(初生、發展、成熟、消散期)的動力、熱力與雲物理特性,瞭解其降水效率(precipitation efficiency),進而降低劇烈天氣的災害。
My research interests focus on analyzing various severe weather systems, including the Mei-yu front, typhoons, thunderstorm and mesoscale convective systems. In particular, I specialize in the development and application of meteorological radar technology. With the increasing functionality and importance of the new-generation dual-polarization precipitation radar and millimeter-wavelength cloud radar, I work on developing application techniques for meteorological radars across different frequency bands (S, C, X, Ka).
My research involves developing methods for radar data quality control (QC), quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE), hydrometeor classification, and retrieval of hydrometeor content. I also conduct studies on various mesoscale weather systems, analyzing their dynamical, thermodynamical, and cloud microphysical characteristics throughout different life stages (initiation, development, mature, and dissipation). Through these efforts, I aim to better understand precipitation efficiency and ultimately reduce the disasters caused by severe weather.
